  • Will a collection agency sue me for $4,200.00 for an auto accident?

Posted by admin on February 16th, 2010 and filed under auto collection | 2 Comments »

The other driver had uninsured drivers insurance and the collection agency linked to her insurance is calling me asking me for the money. Long story short… I don’t have the money to pay. Do you think they will take me to court?

Bet your @$$ they will. Will sue you for failure to maintain financial responsibility, for not having at least liability coverage. And they will win… sorry.
Insurance will always try to re-coop their losses. And if you had no insurance they have an excellent chance of doing so in court.

They do have that option. Since you do not have insurance & the accident was your fault, they (insurance company) had to pay & wouldn’t generally be responsible (if you had insurance) so they will try to re-coup their money. Best to try to set up payment arrangements to avoid a judgment which would include attorney fees, court costs, interest etc.
